Half Moon Nail Art Tutorial

Dita Von Teese
Day 23 of 31 day challenge: Half Moon Nails

Half moon nail art hit the catwalk and red carpets in the spring of 2011.
Anyone who's anyone has rocked this nail art from Rihanna to Dita Von Teese.

I have gone for a bit more a of Dita Von Teese kind of look with a gold glitter twist.

Fun Fact:  The white crescent-shaped area of this finger is called The lunula which translated in Latin is little moon.

For this tutorial you will need:
- Base and top coat
- Base colour
- French manicure guide stickers
- Nail glue
- Nail art pen
- Rhinestones

Undercoat yours nails to protect your natural nails.

Once your base is completely dry apply the sticker guide over the white crescent-shaped area of this finger (The lunula)

Apply 2- 3 thin coats of your base colour.
I am using Fearne Cottons red.

Remove the sticker slowly while the nail varnish is still wet.

When dry take your nail art pen and apply a layer at the edge to create a boarder.

On my middle nail i added 4 rhinestone in a line as a feature nail.

Apply a generous top coat to complete your design.
