Monarch Butterfly Nail Art Tutorial

The monarch butterfly is such a lovely nail art design.
Its so pretty people cant keep their eyes off my nails.. including me.
Its a tough one to crack and i don think i have fully mastered it as of yet but practise certainly does make perfect.

If your new to the nail art scene you may find it a little difficult as i did when i first tried it.

Have fun!

For this tutorial you will need:
- Base and Top Coat Nail Varnish
- Base Colour Nail Varnish
- Black Nail Varnish
- Black Nail Art Pen
- White Nail Varnish
- Dotting Tool
- Paper Plate

Revlon Base 995 and Top coat 960, Models Own Jack frost, Barry M Black,
Barry M Mint Green, Virgin V White,  Andrea Fulerton Nail Art pen

First off apply a base coat to protect your natural nail.
I am using Revlon 955 - Which is amazing.

Once your undercoat is dry paint your base colour on your nail.
I am using Barry M Mint Green. I always find with pastel colours require 2-3 thin coats.

Once your base colour is dry use your nail art pen to make an arc across the bottom left of your nail.
Then create 5 slightly curved lined but do not go all the way to the end of your nail.

Make small arcs at the top of the lines you have just created

With your black nail varnish colour in the tip of your nail up to the arcs.

Allow your nail to completely dry.
Blob a small amount of white nail varnish on to a paper plate with your small nibbed dotting tool dot the tip of your nail randomly.

Once your happy allow to dry and cover with your top coat to protect your design.
I have covered mine with Models own Jack frost glitter nail varnish to give a almost fairy tail look but that is totally optional.

Repeat on each nail.
Finished :)

*Don't have a nail art pen?.. You can us a nail art or small brush dipped in nail varnish.
* Don't have a dotting tool?... You can use the tip of a blunt pencil, the end of a hair grip or blunt the end of a tool pick.
